With enough rope.

McCain Tells Ohio Auto workers to go back to school.

“I understand the pain” of families affected by manufacturing job losses, McCain said, but he added that many “labor intensive jobs” were not coming back to America.

Instead, he said his job re-training proposals coupled with an “emphasis on new technology” in the automotive sector would boost employment.

Do I need to say anything? DO I? How brain-dead do you have to be to go to OHIO and try and drum up support for free trade? Old man river's not having a lucid day I see. And then, to top it off, his solution is for people, many of which have been automotive factory workers for decades, to go back to school for new training.

Now I'm all for further training, and growing with industry and technology, but two things: this need wasn't caused by natural progression, so something needs to be done on that front right fast - and it's incredibly insulting to people looking for answers, and simply trying to scrape out a living to be addressed in this way. My father worked in a factory for over 20 years, I can't see him responding to what McCain had to say, had he been in the worker's situation, with anything less than outrage and disgust.

Oh, and love that "I understand your pain" line. Real classy Mr. Millionaire. McCain just guaranteed Ohio goes to Obama with this little stunt, I'd wager.

Toe-Tapper Craig and Diaper Dandy Vitter Defend Marriage from Non-Threats

From PageOneQ via Pandagon: Sens. Larry Craig and David Vitter co-sponsor Marriage Protection Amendment
Two United States Senators implicated in extramarital sexual activity have named themselves as co-sponsors of S. J. RES. 43, dubbed the Marriage Protection Amendment. If ratified, the bill would amend the United States Constitution to state that marriage "shall consist only of the union of a man and a woman."

Sen. Larry Craig (R-ID), who was arrested June 11, 2007 on charges of lewd conduct in a Minneapolis airport terminal, is co-sponsoring the amendment along with Sen. David Vitter (R-LA).

In July of 2007, Vitter was identified as a client of a prostitution firm owned
And the relevant text of said proposed amendment:
Marriage in the United States shall consist only of the union of a man and a woman. Neither this Constitution, nor the constitution of any State, shall be construed to require that marriage or the legal incidents thereof be conferred upon any union other than the union of a man and a woman.
Now let's think about this: Apparently, marriage is under attack from the HOMOQUEERFAGZ, and only a closet-case toe-tapper and a diaper-fetishistic whoremonger, both married men, can defend it from evil, evil queers who mock marriage by being faithful to someone of the same gender while these two stalwart defenders of marriage troll for cock in restrooms and satisfy their fetishes with prostitutes.

Oh, and if you want to laugh a lot more, take a look at the list of co-sponsors for this travesty: Most of these names should come as no surprise.

I'd almost figure this was a joke if I didn't know it was true. How much of a moron do you have to be to blindly play right into our hands with this hypocritical bullshit?

Douchebag Nader pulls racist bullshit

From the Rocky Mountain News: Nader: Obama trying to 'talk white'
Independent presidential candidate Ralph Nader accused Sen. Barack Obama, the presumed Democratic Party nominee, of downplaying poverty issues, trying to "talk white" and appealing to "white guilt" during his run for the White House.

Nader, a thorn in the Democratic Party's side since the 2000 presidential election, has taken various shots at Obama in recent days while ramping up his latest independent run for president.
Nader, I have a message from every person who's had to sit and suffer for the last seven and a half years while watching our country go to shit:

Take this race-baiting bullshit and your vote-stealing run and go away. You're the reason we're in this shit right now, and if we end up with four more years of the Bush Junta under McSame, you're going to be the reason for that, too.

Take your ego-stroking run for prez and get out of my country. I'm sick of you fucking everything up for people who actually want to fix something.

Better yet, why don't I just quote Sen. Obama on what he thinks of you:
You know, he had called me and I think reached out to my campaign — my sense is is that Mr. Nader is somebody who, if you don’t listen and adopt all of his policies, thinks you’re not substantive. He seems to have a pretty high opinion of his own work.
Sounds right to me.

And the hits just keep on coming.

Justice Department passed over Liberal applicants
WASHINGTON - Ivy Leaguers and other top law students were rejected for plum Justice Department jobs two years ago because of their liberal leanings or objections to Bush administration politics, a government report concluded Tuesday.

In one case, a Harvard Law student was passed over after criticizing the nomination of Samuel Alito to the Supreme Court. In another, a Georgetown University student who had previously worked for a Democratic senator and congressman didn't make the cut.
This is so freakin' immoral. The saddest part is I can't even say I'm SURPRISED. Seriously, this administration has done so much to destroy our country. Like Damian has said to me before, it's going to take 40 years to undue the damage done in 8.

On the bright side, and to the idea of getting started on those very fixes and changes:

Obama up 12-14 points in latest poll.

Hot damn. There goes the bump that so many were going "DERRR HURRR. OBAMA GOTZ NO BUMP FROM HILLARY." Awesome.

Tim Russert Dead at 58

NBC’s Tim Russert dead at 58
Tim Russert, NBC News’ Washington bureau chief and the moderator of “Meet the Press,” died Friday after being stricken at the bureau, NBC News said Friday. He was 58.

Russert was recording voiceovers for Sunday’s “Meet the Press” broadcast when he collapsed, the network said. He had recently returned from Italy, where his family was celebrating the graduation of Russert’s son, Luke, from Boston College.

No further details were immediately available.

I turned my TV to MSNBC to check the news, and this is what I saw. This is... unbelievable. I've been watching Russert over the course of the primary season, and for this to happen, and so suddenly, is just a shock.

I'm not sure what to say.

It's that time again!

Ron Paul drops out, creates new organization for his lunatics.
“With the primary season now over, the presidential campaign is at an end,” Paul said in the letter. “But the larger campaign for freedom is just getting started.”
Soundbyte, soundbyte, soundbyte! The man's a walking soundbyte with no sound (HA!) policies or ideas. I think that's how he's suckered in his troll-kin followers, they hear a quick soundbyte and go "DURRR, THAT SOUND GOOD," and follow along like the anal cling-ons they are.

But really, how stupid are Ronbots? Behold:

'Nuff Said.

Farewell, Senator Clinton

Clinton officially suspends campaigns, vows to help get Senator Obama elected.
"The way, the way to continue our fight now, to accomplish the goals for which we stand is to take our energy, our passions, our strengths and do all we can to help elect Barack Obama, the next president of the United States," she said of her former rival for the Democratic presidential nomination.

I've been hard on Senator Clinton, to say the least - and the fact is, I stand by what I've said. She went a very dark route in this campaign, and I feel it is a stain on her character. That said... I had an opportunity to catch this speech on TV, and it was very powerful and moving. And from what I saw, very sincere. So thank you, Hillary, for your dedication and work over the many, many years - this isn't the end for you, merely the beginning of a new role, I'm sure. I hope we see more of the woman I saw in the speech today, and less of what we saw on the campaign trail as we move forward.

This nomination has been very polarizing to the party, it's been very aggressive from both sides, neither wanting to give in the least, and understandably so. There have been hurt feelings, and anger from many involved. Now however, we have an important goal ahead, we must work together, we must hold together, to stop the downward spiral our country has been forced into.

Let us progress together.
