It's the most callously overused pander in the world (though I have a feeling it's almost exclusive to this country), it's wrongheaded, and it's not surprising.
Every time some celebrity does wrong, they "find Jesus" and all of a sudden they're supposed to be considered good people? Bullshit. Quite honestly, my experience shows that people who start talking religion in situations like this become worse people. I know that's not going to convince everyone, but I know I can't be the only one who's noticed this.
